This is a project whereby MAZIDO wanted to demonstrate how to collect storm water to be used during the dry season.
The main objectives were;
To promote rain water harvesting in Ghazi Sub Location of Ngolia Location.
Construct 1 sand dam along Mwalenjo river.
Provide water for use in small scale irrigation by 100 households along the river.
Key Achievement:
- MAZIDO constructed one Sand Dam along Mwalenjo Seasonal River which has been able to retain sufficient amount of rain water to last 3 months after the rains. The Dam is used by humans, cattle and wildlife/Elephants during the dry season.
